Reports have surfaced that Sony Ericsson has signed a deal with california based GestureTek company to bring their specialized software to S.E mobiles that will turn you
r mobile camera into a motion-controlling sensor which could then be used as a accelerometer like in iPhone. Mobile owners will be directly able to control the on screen characters by tilting the screen in a same way we play games on Nintendo Wii.
It is also said that the software will work on both the new and old handsets having a camera and it will use the mobile camera to sense movements. The games that will support motion sensitive gaming on Sony Ericsson mobiles are Crash Banicoot and Super Monkey Ball.
Nice move by Sony Ericsson, lets see if Nokia also comes up with something like that.

NOKIA TO LAUNCH 40 GREEN PHONES:
World’s top cell phone maker, Nokia is planning to launch around 40 new green phone models this year — each comprising biodegradable components that can be easily recycled.
Mobile phones are not biodegradable. They contain small amounts of potentially harmful substances such as cadmium, lithium, among others, in their batteries which, if not managed properly, can damage the environment.
Announcing the launch, D Shivakumar, VP and managing director, Nokia India, said, “We will be using biodegradable phone covers, recyclable battery designs that use less harmful toxic materials and energy efficient accessories for all our forthcoming phones. Already, we have eliminated the use of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) in all our phones.”“The green phones, which we will launch this year, will be introduced across all price ranges,” he added. “The consumer simply places the contents in the bag and then puts it in their mailbox. We are evaluating similar refurbishment processes for India, which is the second-largest telecom market,” added Shivakumar.
Nokia has already launched an eco-friendly phone, Nokia 3110, which the company claims is 65 per cent recyclable. Also, it is working towards reducing the energy consumed by mobile chargers up to 50 per cent.
Nokia also plans to open up ‘Green Bins’ across all Nokia dealers in India, where customers can dispose of their old mobile phones for recycling. The company also stated that the number of materials that cannot be recycled in the mobile phone can be reduced by using Biomaterials like polylactic acid plastics with plant or other biomass based modifiers such as biodegradable phone cover and battery.

WORLD SUPER LONG PHONE:
There is a big competition among different mobile companies that claim their mobile phones to be “the smallest“, “the thinnest” or “the lightest“. But how about manufacturing a mobile phone that is “the longest”?
Most phones are designed to be pocket-friendly. But the designer Tamer Koseli thinks a bit different. His phone is probably the world’s longest phone ever made.

He wanted to create a device with no superfluous features. That’s right, you won’t find a MP3 player, video capabilities, or even a camera. But WAIT! Don’t dismiss the Super Phone yet because it’s got a touchscreen. There’s plenty of room for touchscreen functionality. There are, in fact, two displays: One OLED that shows basic info, the other for scrolling. And from the pictures, while there’s no digital camera onboard, there appears to be an expansion slot of some sort.
So, if this Super Phone manufactured commercially, would you be interested in buying one?
